The Search For Truth: An Introduction from Brian Prewitt

2 [It is] the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings [is] to search out a matter. — Pro 25:2 KJV

As a contributing writer for Plug The Blog, I'd like to introduce myself and share what you can expect from my contributions.

A Lifelong Quest

Throughout my life, I've been consumed by one overarching question:

What is the truth?

This pursuit has led me down countless paths of research and inquiry. Sometimes, these journeys yield clear answers. Other times, they leave me with more questions than when I started. The results can be exhilarating or frustrating, often challenging my preconceptions and forcing me to reconsider my stance on various issues.

The Ultimate Truth

Ultimately, all of these searches have led me to one conclusion: Truth is not just an abstract concept, but a person. This realization stems from a powerful interaction between Jesus and Pilate, as recorded in the Gospel of John:

36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence. 37 Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice. 38 Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault [at all]. — John 18:36-38 KJV

Jesus claims to bear witness to the truth, stating that those who are "of the truth" will hear His voice. This profound statement suggests that Jesus not only possesses the truth but embodies it. As He declares in John 14:6:

6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. — John 14:6 KJV

A Personal Journey

The realization that Truth is personified in Jesus has been the most transformative discovery in my own journey. If you find yourself yearning for truth in a world often shrouded in darkness, I believe that Jesus offers the peace and clarity you seek.
